Update: From the East, the Hermatige exit (#212) is more direct than going past the closure to 2nd. With the planned closing of I-24 people need to know how to get into East Nashville this summer. I've created a map and these directions for people coming from 5 different directions into East Nashville.

The Woodland and Main Street bridges over I-24 (and I-65) through East Nashville are going to be closed 18 weekends starting April 21, 2012. This is a big concern for our favorite vendors here on the East Side as the main access points are cut off during peak times, including the Tomato Art Fest.
So glad everyone has found this useful. I was simply wanting our friends to find our home during this construction period (and my upcoming birthday).
I've created the map below showing five different directions for accessing East Nashville. Feel free to download the PDF. The PDF (and a new jpeg for download) has arrows and a few more road labels.
From the West/Bellvue/I-40 area take I-40 and take I-65 North instead of the downtown loop. Get off at the Rosa Parks exit and take a right. Take a left on Jefferson, cross the bridge and follow it around via Spring Street to Main Street. Go left on Main Street to enter East Nashville.
From the West/Midtown/Downtown area follow Broadway (or Demonbreun) East until it ends at 1st Ave. South. Take a right on First and a left onto the Korean Veterans Bridge. Cross the bridge where the road becomes Shelby Ave. Take Shelby to 10th and take a left there to enter Five Points.
From the South/I-65 area follow I-65 North to the I-40 split. Take I-40 East and exit on 2nd Ave. Take a left at 2nd and follow it to Korean Veterans. Take a right on Korean Veterans Pkwy, cross the bridge where the road becomes Shelby Ave. Take Shelby to 10th and take a left there to enter Five Points.
From the East/I-40/I-24 area follow I-24/I-40 toward downtown. Take the Hermitage Ave. exit #212. At the end of the ramp take a left onto Hermitage Ave. Follow it to Korean Veterans. Take a right on Korean Veterans Pkwy, cross the bridge where the road becomes Shelby Ave. Take Shelby to 10th and take a left there to enter Five Points.
